Digital Storytelling Station at Escondido Public Library's Pioneer Room

Escondido Public Library's Pioneer Room, in cooperation with the Media Arts Center of San Diego is hosting a Digital Community Storytelling Station in the Pioneer Room Local History Center adjacent to the main library, 247 S. Kalmia Street, Escondido.

The public is invited to record their stories - and there are so many unique stories. These stories include personal or family stories, stories from local history, stories about the community and contemporary stories about local characters, to name a few.
 

All you need is  
 

*If you don't have music, photos or video, you can still tell a story. Please call Helene Idels at 760-839-4315 if you have questions or you wish to sign up to record your digital story. View stories now!

 

If you are interested in sharing your story or simply would like to know more about this project, call or drop in to the Pioneer Room.
 

You get to keep the  DVD and the opportunity to share your story online with friends, family, historians, researchers and students.

  

California of the Past is funded by a grant from the California State Library.

 

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to record their own history and the history of Escondido as well," said Helene Idels, Pioneer Room archivist. "We had several people signed up before the story station was even set up."
